Support for ABCoast Team Members
Many of you were present at the recent Lapu-Lapu celebration in Vancouver — a gathering meant to honour courage, heritage, and unity. What was intended as a moment of cultural pride and shared community became, for some, an experience marked by confusion, fear, and trauma. We want to acknowledge that openly, with care and compassion.
You showed up to celebrate resilience. Instead, you may now find yourselves carrying the emotional weight of witnessing something deeply unsettling. Whether you were physically present or affected by the stories and images that followed, please know what you're feeling is valid, and you're not alone.
Trauma doesn’t always look the same. You might be experiencing shock, anxiety, guilt, anger, or even numbness — or maybe you’re still trying to make sense of it all. That’s okay.
There is no “right” way to feel after something traumatic. What matters is that you have the space and support to begin healing.
Please use this page as a resource and a helping hand from ABCoast to you there are resources, links, and contact information for you to be able to browse through and find the help that you may need to go through this time.
